Spry (Spring Youth League)
DETAILS: This is our biggest youth league. This is a co-ed league for high school teams AND individuals. Coaches will be provided by GRADA or teams may bring their own coach. Players may sign up with a team or register as an individual and be placed on a team. The GRADA Youth League Director reserves the right to place individual registrants on any team. This year we are capping participation at 16 teams.
DATE/TIME: Sundays, April 19 – June 7th. Games will be played at 2:30 and 4pm. Games are to 15 points, time-capped at 1 hour, 15 minutes. Generally there will be one game per week with the possibility of double headers — depending on the number of teams entering the league.
LOCATION: Crittenden Road ball fields between E. River Road and W. Henrietta Road.
PARTICIPANTS: Players must be at least age 14 or older and MUST NOT have graduated from high school prior to 2009.
COST: $25 per player. Includes 8 weeks of Ultimate, T-shirt and end of season party.
LEAGUE FORMAT: Games are played 7 against 7. There are 2 divisions. The A division is for more experienced teams, and the B division is for newer players/teams. Coed is not mandatory, but please play with spirit and match up appropriately.
TEAM REQUIREMENTS: Teams are registered only when a minimum of 15 players have registered and paid online. Space in the league is limited to 16 teams maximum.
REGISTRATION: Registration is online only at http://grada.org/leagues/signup. Online registration will open on March 1, and close April 5th. Late registration will be from April 6th – April 12th. Please NOTE: Late registrants are NOT guaranteed a spot in the league, t-shirt or other amenities. ** LATE REGISTRATION IS EXTENDED ** online registraton is open again. You can also register in-person at the fields on Sunday. Bring a check for $25 payable to GRADA. Waiver forms will be available at the games, or get one here.
234-TOSS is the GRADA hotline to call for field updates and game times. This will be an easy way for people to check for game cancellations due to poor field conditions/weather. Put it on your speed dial!
